Military Monday - Dinna Forget

An embroidered post card from my World War I collection. It appears to have been sent to Kristie or Kirste Jensen.

"Will write you a letter later we are all well."
Ha.... Jensen
H.q. Co. 16th Inf.
A.E.F. France

(Any thoughts on the first names of either of these individuals?)

What a pretty card Heather! The one name looks like Kirste to me. That second one is tough. At first glance, it looked like Hahrr which makes no sense. It could be Hal.. or Hak.. Maybe Halvor?

Thanks, Kathryn! I agree with the Kirste. I think I'll look for a unit roster and see if I can track down his name.

Heather, I just searched for Halvor Jensen WWI and a set of dog tags came up! http://www.bullfrogvalleymilitaria.com/category.cfm?SID=65

I searched for Halvor Jensen when I commented on June 3 and didn't see anything, so maybe it's a new listing. I wasn't even sure it was a real name. :) I saved the image off in case it disappears.

Kathryn, you rock! It is the same unit so it must be him. What a unique name. I'm excited to research this family. Thank you!!!

Heather, glad I could help! I was searching for something completely unrelated when something came up that reminded me of your Jensen name, so I did another search for that. Funny how that works sometimes! :)

I did a quick ancestry and findagrave.com search on my mobile and it seems like Halvor doesn't want to be found! I'll try again later...it would be awesome to find a photo.
